Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah Institution of Engineering
(BMSCE), also known as B.M.S. College of Engineering, is a private engineering college in Basavanagudi,
Bangalore. The college was founded by Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah in 1946 and the B.M.S Educational
Trust is in charge of its administration. BMS College of Engineering offers courses in the UG, PG, and PhD
levels. B.E. is the flagship program of BMSCE. The institute also offers PhD and MSc (Engineering by Research)
programs. 14 departments have been designated as Research Centers. Admissions to all the courses offered at
BMSCE are on the basis of various state and national-level entrance tests. These include PGCET, KMAT, MAT, GATE,
etc.There are additional counseling sessions for seat distribution in some courses. Students must register for a
course twice to get admission at BMSCE, once at the entrance exam’s official website and next at the official
website of BMSCE.
BMSCE offers full-time programs at the UG, PG, and PhD levels. B.E. programs are available in 17 specializations, M.Tech programs in 13 specializations, and PhD/M.Sc (Engg.) is available in 14 departments. B.E. is a 4-year program, while M.Tech lasts for 2 years. In addition to these, the institute now provides full-time MBA and MCA programs. Registration for admission to MBA and MCA programs begins in January. The UG application procedure, however, begins in February. Each program's admission is based on merit and entrance exam results. Candidates may also apply for management quota and lateral entry seats at the BMS College of Engineering. Given below is the list of courses offered by BMSCE along with the fee structure:
The admissions to B.Tech and B.E. courses are granted on the basis of candidate’s merit in Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET). The entrance test will have 180 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. The exam will have three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section will have 60 questions each. The candidates will get 3 hours to complete the exam. There will be no negative marking. However, in the event of a tie in the test score the principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adopted to break ties. The entrance test is based on the existing syllabus of 10 + 2 / 12th STD / 2nd PUC.There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch Course. Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch course shall submit separate application form for counseling as per the notification on COMEDK website (will be made available before counseling).
