IIM Bangalore (IIMB) Course

Postgraduate, doctorate, and certificate programs in management are available at IIM Bangalore. Applications for the IIM Bangalore PGDM are accepted from applicants with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%. Admission to the IIM Bangalore flagship PGDM program is handled through the CAT. The institute provides a one-year Executive MBA study in addition to PGDM.   1. Eligibility Criteria:Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum percentage of marks, usually around 50% or equivalent CGPA.For some programs, work experience may be preferred but is not always mandatory.
  2. Common Admission Test (CAT):CAT is the primary entrance exam for admission to IIMs, including IIMB.Candidates must take the CAT exam and obtain a valid score.
  3. Application Process:Candidates need to fill out the online application form on the official website during the application window.The application form typically includes personal details, academic history, work experience (if any), and other relevant information.
  4. Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT):Based on CAT scores and other criteria, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage, which involves a Personal Interview and a Written Ability Test.Shortlisting criteria may also include academic performance, work experience, diversity factors, etc.
  5. Interview and WAT:Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Personal Interview and Written Ability Test.The WAT assesses a candidate's written communication skills, and the PI evaluates various aspects like personality, academic achievements, work experience, and general awareness.
  6. Final Selection:The final selection is based on a composite score that considers CAT scores, academic performance, work experience, diversity factors, and performance in the PI and WAT.
  7. Merit List:The institute prepares a merit list based on the composite scores, and candidates are offered admission accordingly.
  8. Admission Offer and Acceptance:Selected candidates receive admission offers, and they need to accept the offer within a specified period by paying the admission fee.

IIM Bangalore Hostels

Accommodation & Other Expenses

Accommodation:  Students visiting IIMB under the student exchange program during Term 5(Sep-Nov) may be provided accommodation in the hostel during the exchange period.  Students visiting in other terms, Term 4 or Term 6, may not have access to hostel rooms, in which case IIMB will assist in finding suitable accommodation. However, IIMB is not responsible for finding such accommodation. The costs of accommodation and meals must be borne by the students.
